The internship constituted of several parts which involved completing practical assignments, literature review and working on excel data sheets and industry standardized software. Several topics of general interest to the department were covered in a descriptive manner which added useful skills to the trainee. The major topics covered included: BHP surveys, fluid compositional modelling, well test analysis and practical reservoir simulation (study of data file).

Salient Features: Identification of scale for a particular case scenario. Using a scale prediction software which requires samples of brines, gases or hydrocarbons as input data and determines the scale tendencies in a system as well as the amount of scale formed as the output. Recommend the most cost-effective way for the remediation of scale. The technique of re-perforation will be evaluated in order to determine its applicability on a case well. Determination of the scale preventive measures

A Sequential Approach for the Mitigation of Scale Deposition
NEDUET Petroleum Engineering Department
An in-depth compilation of several stages of a scale management program as performed in the petroleum industry. This dissertation comprises of water analysis, prediction of mineral scales by the ion speciation method, identification of scales by well intervention techniques, scale monitoring approaches, PBU analysis and Well modelling. The particular methodology followed is detailed in the thesis.
Optimum Well Completion Plan for Tight Gas Reservoirs
SPE Annual Technical Conference 2014 Journal
Stress reorientation around a fractured vertical well has two sources: opening of propped fracture (mechanical effects) and production/injection of fluids in the reservoir (poroelastic effects). In this paper, the coupling of both was modeled to quantify the extent of stress reorientation. Both the factors are responsible to set up stress reorientation in the vicinity of the fracture (stress reversal region) and cause a reoriented stress profile that can impact refracturing operations.
