Geek In Chief

Jan 2013

From 2013 Anthony has taken on several electronics design projects, some of which in fact turned out to involve very significant aspects of Product Design and related client guidance, in medical/dental and consumer appliance markets with clients in the USA, Canada, and Egypt, some of whom he's still currently servicing. A 2 month contract in 2014, followed by full-time engagement in 2015 with is his current primary interest.

Nov 2003 - Dec 2012 (9 years)

From 2003 Anthony focussed exclusively on Techydude Consulting's primary business of being an "On-Call IT Department" to a handful of small businesses in Melbourne Australia, with almost no client churn, and a strong emphasis on efficient workflow, Infosec IT security, data backups, infrastructure redundancy and business continuity planning, and based largely on Microsoft Windows server & client technologies; through to 2013.

Freelance Electronics Design - Midnight Engineer

Mar 1998 - Aug 2003 (5 years)

Initially 'on the side' in Sydney until early-2000, then in Melbourne until late-2003, Anthony designed hardware for 20+ PCBs for API Security's (via Smike Pty Ltd) cash handling products: first, a cash-carrying pneumatic tube system installed into many supermarkets throughout Australia; and then on the 'Intellisafe', a cash handling system that closed the loop on detecting internal fraud in petrol (gas) stations across Australia.

Technical Manager

Mar 1996 - Mar 2000 (4 years)

Anthony herded software support staff, wrangled onsite hardware techs, argued with software developers, placated difficult clients with his mellifluous tones, designed electronics for the then-current (Intel 80186-based) and next generation (PC104 WindowsCE based) hardware products and managed their manufacturing with two electronics CMs (Dayang & HarTec), assisted in recruitment for all those departments, and lead the relocation of the business & its 25 staff to new premises.

I began my adult working life at a small electronics design & small-scale manufacturing business, working my way up the 'skills food-chain', from manufacturing, test & repair, electronics design, microcontroller programming, & systems integration in medium-scale industrial control systems of a wide variety.
