I worked in the field of transportation for the last thirty years, the last six of them as the owner of my own delivery service. I have always done all the day-to-day paperwork for myself, including designing by own pamphlets and brochures, business letters, and invoices. Approximately two years ago, a friend asked me to check her book and see if I could find any errors in it before she self-published it. I was amazed at the mistakes I found. From that initial work, I have gone on to edit several more books, in several genres as well as editing web sites, producing content and ghostwriting. I realized that I was enjoying the editing work more than my bricks and mortar business and was trying to rationalize closing the company. Then the recession hit my small company and after ensuring that all my employees had new jobs, I closed my business on September 30, 2006 to concentrate on this work. In my spare time, I like to read. I am a volunteer reviewer at on online web site. I volunteer at an online book exchange store as well as volunteer work at the Gutenberg project. My favorite volunteer work is with animals. I am a member of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club and love to attend the various shows around the country. I am also active in rescue services, providing transport and foster care for dogs in need. I share my home with my mother and like the freedom of this work. I can pick it up any time day or night and still be free to work with my volunteer jobs when I want to do so.
