Developed a platform consisting of computational modeling and experimental microcalorimetry of lipid vesicles. Using molecular dynamics simulations, I modeled the free energy associated with membrane disruption by several solvents and detergents. The examination of identical membrane systems using isothermal titration microcalorimetry experiments provided correlation with thermodynamic parameters obtained from computational results.
