I'm an American based mostly in Kenya. I was assistant to a literary agent and on staff for Random House/Crown Publishers in New York before settling in Africa. I read widely and have freelanced for many mainstream and academic publishers, nongovernmental organizations and individual scholars and authors, both in the U.S. and in Kenya. Strengthening the texts of ESL or "nonnative" writers is a specialty. Recent projects have included ebook editing and formatting, web content, SEO writing and e-newsletters. I have also run my own small craft export/fashion accessories business in Kenya. For me, communication should be easy and natural. Word choice should be appropriate and direct, never overly elaborate. Bad punctuation is often the cause of great miscommunication--especially on the internet. Attention to detail, in craftwork as well as in writing, is a source of great pride for me. I will always opt to go the extra mile over letting a customer down. Integrity is key.

Writeimpressions is a very good native English speaker, with the rare ability to see what the customer wants and act accordingly. The quality of work provided was of a very high standard and formatted in an easy to use manner. While the cost was higher than other comparable bids for this project, the quality of work and ease of communication far outweighed the cost. A very professional Freelancer who is worth every cent!

Yeah, I know. Who uses this any more? Most of my computer knowledge is self-taught. I get along as needed and am pretty fearless. Freelancer wanted me to put something under Certifications, so I did. It was a short course that taught me the basics of website construction.
