The sewage system in India is a complex system where construction of manholes and sewage pipes generally do not conform to standards in their operation and maintenance. This paper discusses the conceptual design for a sewer-bot which can inspect and de-clog in the rugged Indian environment, and the device is expected to be operated by the poorer section of society generally involved in the upkeep of sewer lines, with dignity and livelihood enhancement.
