Electrical Design for Wind Turbine Systems
$15-25 USD / hour
We are a wind turbine company who makes vertical axis wind turbines for small-midsize wind energy. Our turbines capture mechanical power from the wind and create rotational power (torque). That torque produces electricity, which charges an on-board battery bank, then converts that stored power to AC current. We have working units based on off-the shelf components and controls.
We are seeking an electrical engineer familiar with converting wind or solar energy into house current to analyze our current design and make improvements through different components, wiring, controls, and batteries. We will first need schematics based on our sketches. Tthere are several configurations (AC to DC to AC) and (DC to AC). Then, we will want you to suggest improvements to our system based on your skills and ingenuity.
*** Please don't propose if you "think" you can do the work. We are looking for an experienced individual or firm. ***
** Familiarity with US electrical codes and best practices for alternative energy is a must **
* US registered electrical engineer is desirable - or the ability to produce work meeting proper US and UL certifications and Professional Engineer stamp at minimum. *
* Non-disclosure agreement will be required.*
Long term relationship is likely as we have several unit sizes and different end use scenarios.
