Wordpress theme/site customization

I have a site with a theme installed. It's called GeoTheme. Basically, what I want is to turn this [login to view URL] (which is the default theme that I bought so it is what my site looks like right now) into this [login to view URL] (which is a site made using the same theme that i really like) but of course it will have certain differences, for example:
- background images for header and body
- different color for menu and fonts, etc.
- it will need to be multilingual (i already bought a plugin WPML i just dont know how to use it)
and other similar tweaks, but the general design will be the same as the sample website that I like ([login to view URL])
I am a wordpress newbie, but I know the basics and a bit more, so I would like to know how the changes were made so that I can make little tweaks in the future myself.
