Hello,
I'm planning to give away freebies on my website. When the user clicks on the "Download" button a modal window opens where he has to enter his email address. He can also uncheck a "Add me to the Newsletter list" option, then he clicks send. After that he gets listed in a dedicated area in the WordPress backend as subscriber (with email address and if he wants to receive the newsletter). This list needs to be exportable as CSV and TXT file to be transfered to e.g. MailChimp. Then he gets an automated email with a temporarily downloadlink to the file he requested. The link gets invalid after some time (24 hours or so). If the user has already entered his email address at another file he sees the download link in the modal window to directly download the requested file.
To monitor the downloads I need a download counter in the Wordpress backend for each file which is availabe for download, to show me which files are requested how often.
