A chance to earn yourself a quick $30 by writing a simple PHP script....
What i am looking for is someone to write a server using sockets in PHP to listen on a specified port. The server will accept the following two commands:
username bob
password bobpass
and will check the username/password given against my 'users' table in my MySQL database.
The server will then return 'OK001' if the password given is correct or a 'ERR001' if the password is incorrect.
This should take a good coder no longer than 30 minutes to do, and i have links to some good php socket server scripts that can be easily modified if neccesary.
The only further request is that the php socket server accepts multiple (may be up to a couple of thousand at a time) connections, and continues to run after a client disconnects (yet again, i have a link to some code for this).
If all goes well, this program may well be expanded considerably, leading to further work for the chosen programmer.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
