Where the project is right now :
- I have a very clear idea of what I need. I have developed plans for the graphical / layout and also the 'database' elements of the site. The user workflows etc. are also resolved.
- I would like some sort of NDA or written assurance that my Intellectual Property is safe before sending you the full documentation. I'm hoping you have a proforma agreement for this that we can sign. I'm sure you understand my need for this- most of your clients have probably seen 'the social network' and so its probably quite common ; )
The basics :
> The site needs to use MySQL and PHP. However I want it to look very professional... so if there are alternatives I'm happy to hear them (however MySQL is a must)
> The site will utlilize the IMDB database which can be imported into MySQL using a Python script - I have documented and completed this process in my own testing environment....it is not too complicated.
> Much of the functionality will be similar to IMDBs 'watchlists' >>> [login to view URL]
> this is stage 1 for the site. if it becomes viable, there is an opportunity for a lot more work.
- I have built my own testing server (Ubuntu) running LAMP with a very crude / basic / incomplete PHP / MySQL version of the site to gain an understanding of what is required. The theory is sound, but appreciating it takes years (that i dont have) of learning to create anything professional looking - I've decided to outsource the final product.
- Due to my profession, I'm very familiar with the level of communication required - however I have no intention of dictating your work to you. I value your input into the project.
