Current Wordpress theme is 'Fontella' by Horacio Bella. It is too dull and it has too many buttons and nonsense.
I am aiming for an appealing, modern design that is easy on the eye but does draw the reader in, with some sparkling colors on a white background and good typography.
All will be in Dutch, I will send you the necessary translations.
Layout as in the current theme: only the column of that day is visible. Text on the right, maybe a little bit wider than it is now. Left a colored sidebox with (the current) photo, a short intro (100 words) and contact details.
Under the sidebox a twitterbox and rss-button ánd the links to the archive (so not under the body text): the titles of the five latest entries (number of reactions between accolades) and the rest below that under 'Archive', with total number of entries between ( ). We'll have to figure out what happens when you push this button; where do alle the entries appear?
When clicking on an archive item, the layout stays the same and the entry appears. This is different than in the current site.
Lose the top banner. Lose the bottom banner. Keep the box with data under each entry but lose the 'date stamp'. Lose the search box. No room for credits with your name, sorry. If mentioning wordpress is obligatory, then as small as possible.
Fonts: black or dark grey, sans serif for the body text and a fitting other one for the headline. Compatible for both Mac and Windows. Go for stylish but utterly readable, not too fancy.
We'll figure out where the home button goes.
That's it. Smaller things will follow in the process.
NB One disclaimer: when I don't like your first designs, I want to be able to bail out without costs. This due to earlier experiences.
