Modify an old arcade game new

There is a zip file with a game downloaded from the web, its for a final assignment to my university.

It's a space invaders arcade game on 80's. Taking into consideration that the specific zip file it's been downloaded through the internet so there is a possible chance of plagiarism: Internet similarity files. So, i would like to change the structure of the code add some levels, graphics, background pictures and models so that it will not be similar to the current zip file. If u run the game using C sharp Xna . u will notice that tha there is one ship firing at some rocks. I would like to have more rocks with different shape and models and the ability to progress to a new level. the only thing i ve changed through the original zip are the integers so there is no need to change em.

So what i am asking to do its to change the game add the future's i ve mentioned so its has no similarities to the current one . I would also like to add some sounds and change the models if possible.

general adds:

1. Change of code to be no similar to the current

2. Counds

3. Add levels

4. Change the menu

5. Chance and add more models on it

6. Make it better and more exciting

7. Change the menu

If you have any idea if anything else more easy to change that it will help in order to make the game look different please advice.
