Hi, I need a tool that would make it easier to format affiliate datafeeds. These datafeeds are lists of products from a merchant's shop and are formatted in csv or tab or pipe delimited. An example of a pipe delimited feed can be found in the attachment! The only fields which are relevant for the affiliate are the |Name| which is the name of the product they are promoting, |Link| which would be their affiliate link leading to the merchant's site so they get a commission, the |BigImage| so a picture of the product would be shown on the affiliate's site (linked to the merchant's site, too) and |Description| so the product would have a text below the picture and last but not least the content from the |Price| field. See how the output looks like here: [url removed, login to view] So it's a link at the top, a picture which is linked and the price and a description below it. These lines should be formatted using a tool which you'll need to program (please note that it should be able to handle up to 3000 products at a time) in a way that the affiliate would be able to: A.) Use a blog autopost tool like RSS2Blog ([url removed, login to view]) which basically means that the html tags for the correct formatting need to be added to each individual line and that special tags like #TITLE# for the title of a blog post which would be the name of the product and and #break# to the end of a line will be added automatically. Non-relevant information and spaces should be deleted. It should become one ongoing line ready to be pasted into the RSS2Blog interface. It's just too time consuming to use MS Excel for this. --------------------------------- B.) A way to integrate this output as RSS into a web site if the user does not want to post this datafeed to a blog but wants to show the products as a catalog site on his html based website. In other words: the webmaster should be able to add a line of code to his html page similar to this: #include virtual="/cgi-bin/[url removed, login to view]" and the product would show up with linked title (using the webmaster's affiliate link), linked picture and a description below it. Then a separator or a different background color for the next item and so on. But it does not necessarily have to be written in Perl. It could also be PHP based. The RSS output needs to be able to show the most important parts of a feed which would be: 1.) Name of the product (linked to the merchant site with the user's affiliate ID which is included in the datafeed) 2.) Small picture of the product (linked to the merchant site with the user's affiliate ID which is included in the datafeed) 3.) The full description of the product 4.) If possible: The price Affiliate datafeeds are usually downloaded from a merchant's site or an affiliate network like Commission Junction. I'm attaching one of those datafeeds to this post so you can see how big they are and how they are formatted. The software should be able to handle ALL separators whether the data is separated using commas, tab or pipe (|). If it is an online version, you will create for this, the installation needs to be as user friendly as possible - it must be something that even "newbies" can install. I am waiting for your suggestions and your bids! I am also looking for products that are catered towards Internet marketers with complete source code. If you have an application programmed already and you want to sell it with complete rights and source code, let me know. If it is interesting enough and the price is affordable, I might want it.
