pass 2 form variables thru 2 pages (url is ok) & into a form

WHAT I HAVE NOW:

1. Main Page: user enters a user name, password, and email, then hits submit button.

2. This action submits those 3 fields to my [login to view URL] autoresponder account.

3. [login to view URL] then puts that info into my list and i have it so it then passes the 3 variables to my [login to view URL] page via URL, which prepopulates the [login to view URL] page's 3 form fields (username, password, email). The password field has been encrypted at that point by the membership script.

4. Because the fields have been prepopulated, the user then only has to press the REGISTER button, and the 3 fields are processed via a [login to view URL] page that checks whether that combo of variables is either a) logged in; or b) banned; or c) already registered. If none of those are true, [login to view URL] adds the new info to a [login to view URL] mySql database wherein the password is encrypted using md5.

5. Next, the new User is taken to the LOG IN page in which -AS IT STANDS NOW -they must now enter their Username and Password again to gain access to the password protected site.

6. This final log-in step is a real pain and IMHO would deter a too large percentage of users from logging in because either they forgot their password from 2 steps before, or they figure that this is an endless relationship of adding the same information too many times! :) So....

---------------------------------

THIS PROJECT consists of plainly and simply writing - using my variables - and in the simplest of terms - in php - how and what to put in the head and body of each page to get the fields of the second page to pass to the Log-In form page to be prepopulated with user name and password so the user only has to press one more button, i.e., the Log-In button, to get in the password protected site.

The process should go like this:

Step 1: User enters their created Username, password and email address into the form and presses SUBMIT (already created and works fine)

Step 2: [login to view URL] is displayed and the 3 fields in that form are prepopulated, and user presses the REGISTER button (I've already created that form, prepopulated it, and it works fine)

Step 3: They are confirmed as registered, and press CONTINUE. (that's already done and working fine)

Step 4: The Log In page and form is displayed (that is done and works fine)

(THIS IS WHAT NEEDS DONE:) prepopulate form with user name and password (:THIS IS WHAT NEEDS DONE)

and they press LOG IN (that is done and works fine)

One more time:

pass the 2 variables from step 2 into the form of step 4. because [login to view URL] is in between, passing via URL is preferred, i think
