I am wife of Brajesh Chandra whose profile is following : 1998- to date 12 years as Principle Research Engineer, i.e the operational in-charge of the National Wind Tunnel Facility (NWTF) at IIT Kanpur. NWTF is Indias second largest wind tunnel facility and has an annual turnover of around Rs. 5 crore. My position as Principal Engineer involves interaction and coordination with over 50 people directly employed and many sub-contractors. I manage the smooth functioning of the total organization starting with sending proposals to secure contracts followed by analysis of the problem, wind tunnel model design using solid works, FEM software for structural analysis, fabrication, testing, analysis of data using different computer tools and the final submission of results to the clients. Some of the major accomplishments of the NWTF under me have been: " A complete wind tunnel testing of the Re-entry Launch Vehicle ( RLV) by ISRO from concept to final design over a 5 year duration " Testing of a Space Capsule Recovery System for ISRO ( Complete system is already proved in Space trials, Presented two technical papers on Aerodynamics and simulation aspects of recovery system in Dec 2007/ Jan 2008) " Testing of the Undersea-to-air missile project of DRDL Hyderabad " Simulation for safety and Aerodynamics of Double Decker container train for Indian Railways 1989-1998 Manager (Design) at the wind tunnel facility of Hindustan Aeronautical Limited and at Avionics group where I was in charge for setting up Avionics Lab for Line Replaceable Unit testing (LRU) in a ground based facility and completed Pilot Vehicle Interface Facility at HAL Design Complex. 1978-1987 I spent the first 10 years of my professional life at the Aeronautical Research and Development Center of the Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. My work involved aircraft design related activities, coordination and planning of Low-speed wind tunnel testing, software development in the areas of Wind Tunnel testing, data analysis, system simulation, and real time computer controlled experiments, facility maintenance and procurement. In the next 9 years at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bangalore, I worked for setting up an avionics system rig and related simulation software development, hardware and system software procurement, coordination of real time software development related to Avionics Line replaceable Unit testing at a ground based facility. I worked as team leader for implementation of Pilot Vehicle Interface Facility (a mini simulator for a typical HUD). MY self ABHA RANI , has expertise of MATLAB programing, Documentation and electronics and I help my husband in executing his projects.
