I have been administrating Open Source Operating Systems in small to medium sized businesses for over 15 years--I love how an open source OS can transform a hunk of metal and plastic into something infinitely useful with no licensing issues or other delays. One of the things I enjoy about my work is that if I am doing my job right, no one will ever know I am there: everything will just work perfectly and smoothly. My clients will be free to do what they do best without having to worry about their servers, or even fully understand how they work. I love being able to provide that kind of peace of mind for my clients, and love watching them be productive thanks to my efforts. I enjoy having a friendly and personable relationship with my clients: I want them to feel free to ask me all sorts of questions as I am really good at explaining technical concepts to non-technical people.
