I have 20 years of experience in providing medical and technical translation between English and Russian languages, as well as doing editing and proofreading to highlight and boost the message in a text or an article. I have just recently joined Freelancer.com (end of June 2013) and will be open to a wide range of projects to establish myself on this site, namely - translation between English and Russian - medical and technical, also written translation as well as doing voice-over for audio- and video-materials. I am also available for proofreading and editing articles and other written materials. In the past I had worked for the Apple MacIntosh Representative office in Central Asia as an interpreter and admin assistant to its President, interpreting for him during his business meetings and negotiations with local business partners, dealerships. I also did technical translations from English to Russian for the manuals and advertisements for the local media. Also, I had worked as an English-Russian interpreter/ admin assistant for 8 1/2 years between October 1994 and July 2003 for the US Government Organization in Central Asia. Between Sept 2003 and March 2012 I had worked as the administrative assistant for three medical specialists at a very big teaching and research hospital in Toronto, ON, where amongst other duties, I did medical transcription and interpreted for the Russian-speaking patients of the doctors I worked for. I also did some proof-reading and editing of the reference letters done by the Doctors for the Medical Residents. I have been successful at writing reviews and articles for some ballet and opera forums and blogs on a non-paid volunteer basis in both English and Russian languages and I am available to start writing reviews and articles on a wide range of topics on a paid basis for projects on Freelancer.com. The topics I am interested are: natural health, tourism, extreme sports, natural beauty advice, woodworking, health and fitness, maintaining health through natural means such as meditation, herbal medicine, and exercise. I have Master's Degree in Comparative Linguistics, I have also written a paper on "Challenges and Nuances of Literary Translation of English Prose and Poetry to Russian Language" .
