## BIO
Education and awards: Completed the course "Bachelor of Engineering" (Software Engineering) with first class honours (H1) in Melbourne University (11/2005). Selected in Dean’s Honour list for first year students (2002). Participated in advanced plus Mathematics class in the department of Mathematics for first year students in Melbourne University (2002). Awarded AUSAID (Australian Agency for International Development) scholarship for Vietnamese students (2001). Attained the highest mark on the entrance exam into the special math class of Vietnam National University, one of the two established centres in Vietnam for training high school students to compete in the International Mathematical Olympiad. Did not attend the class due to financial difficulties (1998). Obtained a number of prizes in Maths competitions in high school and secondary school. Work experience: Worked in many J2ME game porting projects for Punch Entertainment Inc., Vietnam division. Took part as Project Lead in teams of 3 to 10 persons in almost half of these projects. Completed a fully working game prototype for one of Punch’s US clients in about 20 days. Except for the graphic design and game story, I designed and coded the game almost from the scratch on my own. By the time I left Punch, the game was waiting for the approval of the client company’s board of directors before it would be added a few more features for commercial release (2006 – 2007). Participated in the development of a Linux embedded system in a communication device for one of Nomovok's clients. Used a number of tools to compile, build and install Linux kernel and other essential components into the device. Made a simple device driver to interact with the power management module of the device (2007). Worked in maintenance of an integrated management system that is used internally and sold to Nomovok's clients. Tasks included feature addition, bug-fixing, refactoring and discussion of how to improve the system in the long term (2007 - 2008). Built a community website using a number of open source tools including WordPress, Mantis, OpenLDAP, MySQL, Postgresql, GeForge (2008). Worked as a researcher and developer in a research project of NextG Solutions using the latest research ideas in the fields of Machine Learning, Pattern Analysis, Statistics, Image Processing and Computer vision (2008).
