This is a romanian joke website, using PHP & mySQL, CodeIgniter PHP Framework, jQuery and cron jobs. Users can comment and post their own take on each joke (replies). All jokes, comments and replies can be thumbed up/down by the other users. There's also a back-end to manage users.

This is actually just an instance of what the project can do. It was coded for OGC (OneGlobal Corp, USA) and there is a very advanced BackOffice web application behind it. It is multi-user, multi-role and you can create unlimited such e-commerce websites from it, each which it's own back-office to manage products, categories, brands, orders etc. Advanced excel/zip import/export is available for all dynamic content (all product info). I used the CodeIgniter platform here and LinkPoint for payment processing. All e-commerce websites are fully XML based and do not have direct database access. They just call XML scripts from a central server, along with credentials to get all the database info. The BackOffice includes many datatables, reports and jQuery work.

I built the Twitter Spider/Scraper, along with a Back-Office section for this website. It automatically gathers the hottest links on Twitter, based on number of retweets and trending keywords. In the Back-Office, you choose the keywords you wish to monitor. The results are shown in grid format and can be sorted by multiple criteria (default is retweet count). Then, there is a content submission section, from where the admin can add the hottest images/videos/web pages, which will be automatically displayed on the website every day. It uses cron jobs and the Twitter API.

We made a name in Bucharest, by providing high quality website design and development for small charge. We have a good base of happy clients, which continue to provide us with projects since 2009 up to today.

I worked as a freelancer for 1 year for this US based company. I helped them code the LensCentral project, working with CodeIgniter extensively, along with XML & PHP and the LinkPoint Payments API. It was a good collaboration, but, in the end, I felt that I would be better off working on a project basis (I was working as a full-time employee through the internet for them). Overall, a great working experience.

Mar 2008 - Jan 2009 (10 months, 1 day)

This is another company based in Bucharest where I worked as lead web developer, coding PHP & mySQL, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, mostly using Drupal. I wrote modules, integrated themes, used Views etc. in the Drupal framework. I also did custom Wordpress coding for smaller websites. It is here that I gradually became independent. First, I demanded to work from home, which I did for a few months. Then, I finally quit my job and started my own web development company.
