Contest Brief
Hello,
I have been developing an iPad POS system that is now fully functional, but lacks a good design. I am a developer / programmer, and have not the slightest idea on the design part, so i need to "spicen up" my system.
Provided is screen-shots of the views i need a design for, which are:
1. iPad icon
2. Main-view
3. Payment-view
4. Admin-view
Keep in mind, that the color boxes you see on the main-view is used to represent categories (one could be named Clothes, and inside it there would be t-shirt, trousers and so on). This means, that they need to be distinct and not look too much alike, so the user can easily spot his categories. Right now they are just different colors with a name attached to it.
I would like to receive the design in PSD + JPG/PNG format.
Since the screenshots and the app itself is in danish, i will here elaborate on what it means. You should, however, still be able to make sense of it since the structure shouldn't be changed too much. Just needs to look nicer.
1. Main view:
This is the view the cashier works with. The colored boxes are product CATEGORIES. When you click them, it will show a list of products (don't worry about this, i just need a styling for the categories). It is IMPORTANT that they look different, so it is easy to tell them apart. Right now it just shows a bright color for each category along with a title. It needs to be easy to tell them apart. The cashier could for instance name the red box "Coffee" and it would contain a list of coffee products when you click it (again, ignore this step). The blue box could be named "Cakes" and serve as the category for all cakes. That is how they function.
All the blue text in the black bar in the top and bottom are buttons. Each one goes to a different view.
The area on the upper-right (with the gray box) is a list of all items added to the cart. The gray box with the text "Pris i kr." means "Total price". Item lines will appear in the list right below that gray box.
Below that is the number-pad so the cashier can manually enter prices of a product if it doesn't exist as a product in the system. there are some unique buttons, but you shouldn't worry about what they mean as long as you can make that number pad area look nice with the buttons that are present.
The big blue "Betal" below that means "Pay" and will go to the payment view.
2.Payment view
Is presented when the user has added all products they want to purchase and contains the total price in the gray box. In the white box below, the cashier enters how much cash they receive from the customer, and the system calculates the amount to return. There are a total of 5 buttons (2 in the top, 3 in the bottom).
3. Admin view
Basically just a lot of buttons, labels and text fields.
Other than that there are no rules and no preferences. Go nuts!
