Contest Brief

We have an app and we need to show it inserted at the end of the Cut, Copy, Paste menu in many target Apps and Operating Systems.

Windows 10
Windows 11
Mac OSX
Microsoft Word
Microsoft Excel
Google Doc
Google Sheet
Adobe apps
Google Chrome
Firefox
Apple Safari
Microsoft Edge
(many more)

In each case, we need to match the font and style of the target.

Step 1: is find the matching font. See screenshot, we used ChatGPT to find it quickly (Screenshot 1)

Step 2: Take a screenshot of the Cut, copy, paste section (Screenshot 2)

Step 3: Design a good looking example of what it would look like to have our app and icon at the end of the cut, copy, paste. Include the logo of the target and a label

This is the design part of the contest. It should be designed so we can later show an animation of many targets in a row. example: show Windows 10, then Word, then Excel, then Google chrome, etc. The design should support standardizing the examples so the logo and label are in the same location. Special consideration if you are talented enough to create an animated GIF for additional effect. Remember OUR app name at the end is what we want to draw attention to. Only build a design that will work with all examples of Apps and Operating System

The winner gets $50 AND $5 per unique example as a follow up project. We've already used ChatGPT to build a list of 50 top apps.

The delivery will be both .SVG and .PNG versions of the output.

MY RULES: READ CAREFULLY!!

1. Do NOT comment in the general discussion area. this is for me to give advice & guidance. If you get at least three stars, I will chat with you. Telling me to "check entry xxx" will get you rejected.

2. When developing a design, and I give you feedback, only change what I ask. It is hard to track multiple changes.

3. Be original. If you copy someone else exactly, I will deduct a star from your rating.

4. Follow the COMMENTS area. My feedback will guide the winning entry. Things may change so read my latest comments before working on your next entry.

5. Do not submit duplicates. If you think it gives you more exposure, you are wrong. It creates more work for me... so I will reject both.

6. Similar entries. If you have 2 or 4 alternatives, submit them in the same entry in a 2x1 or 2x2 arrangement. WHY? It makes it easier for me to review side by side.

7. Animated GIF links. Not sure if animated GIFs play in freelancer, so do yourself a favor and include a link I can click on to view. This may change based on what I learn on first submissions.

8. Again: Follow the COMMENTS area

Everyone: the final effect we are looking for is a pixelated look. https://app.screencast.com/vVszqadadWRHp top right in this link.

Here is an answer from chatGPT to get this effect

    1. Apply a pixelation filter: Many image editing software applications, such as Photoshop or GIMP, have built-in filters that can be used to pixelate an image. Applying a pixelation filter to the image will divide it into squares or rectangles, giving the impression of a low-resolution screen.

    2. Add a scanline effect: Adding a scanline effect to the image can create the impression of viewing the image on an old CRT monitor. This can be achieved by overlaying a layer with alternating black and white lines over the image and adjusting the opacity to the desired level.

    Everyone:

The Cut, Copy, Paste, Flik, assume that it is zoomed so it can be seen in a graphic on a web page or as part of a larger graphic. Not looking for realism in size. Looking to tell a story

I did not mention to see screenshot 3, it is an example (bad one) of what we want. It was a bad attempt to demonstrate, not a design example.... that is what we need you for!
