Contest Brief

We are a tropically inspired brand of clothing and accessories. Our business is growing and we are ready to introduce our next line of products. Our current products are brightly colored (solids) with a tropically inspired palette.

Now, we are ready to introduce new, signature patterns. Think bold, exciting and colorful, and fun. (Fun but not silly!)
We DO NOT want the traditional tropical designs with palm fronds, hibiscus, pineapples, etc. I cannot emphasize this enough. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT designs that look like everything else already on the market. DO YOUR HOMEWORK. If you feel you must include those elements, we want them stylized in a unique way so that the designs are original and interesting.

I've attached our brand guidelines but DO NOT feel limited by this. We are early enough in our branding lifecycle so that if we have to make changes to the color palette we can do so if it makes sense.

The patterns must be related to each other either through color or design elements. We want the layperson to be able to see one of our patterns and KNOW that it is part of our line. (One of the best examples of this is www.lillypulitzer.com)

Our customer is adult male/female; over 30 years old, mostly living in the US; above average household income; likes to travel

Be brave and don't be afraid to try something outside of the box. It's easier for us to scale back than to inspire boldness!
