Contest Brief

The Property Valuation Report tool gives a user a very quick and accurate price estimation for a property, together with lists of nearby properties.

We are looking for a Graphic Designer to produce a modern and innovative user-interface design for these new Valuation Reports, which must be user friendly and simple to understand, even for new users. We need a mobile-first experience, which displays seamlessly on desktops and a in a PDF download.

The competition prize will be awarded to the best overall looking design, so please focus on the look & feel of the individual widgets/components and worry less about the web/pdf versions initially.

There will be a secondary project to turn the design into a set of HTML/CSS or React source code files, so if you also have those skills please mention that in your response. There will also be more projects to enhance the report design in due course.

-----The Spec
The deliverable is broken down into 4 main pages: the stages of the valuation process, starting with the Landing Page and ending with the Final Valuation Report. After the first landing page, there should be indicator of progress, showing which stage of the process the user is currently at (e.g. 1/3, 2/3).
There are screenshots of the current, undesigned interface attached, but you can request access to test it out yourself.

---1) Landing Page
A simple page with the text “Value Any Property in the UK” and a textbox below for searching. When the user types in the textbox, search results are displayed in a dropdown attached to it. Each result item in the dropdown list has 3 data items (property type, address, last sale date & price). There may be lots of results so keep it vertically condensed (result items should have a low height). See “landing_page.png” for a visual example.

---2) Property Spec
Please propose a much better layout and style for the fields shown in the screenshot titled “property_spec.png”.

---3) Price Range
I hope this is self-explanatory, but essentially the user selects a condition & price then accepts the estimate. See “price_range.png”.

---4) Final Valuation Report
This page should show property specific data widgets (Image, Address, Price, Price Source, £/sqft, Map, etc.) to the user initially. This is the most important part of the design – please propose a new modern design for these data widgets.

Below the summary data there should be a set of tabs/sections displaying related data. Some will contain graphs and others contain lists of property results. The property result styling is already acceptable, although enhancement ideas are welcome.

-----Design concepts
- The design should feel modern and minimalistic, but try to include a little classical “flair” like the sort of thing you’d find in an old building. The design should be modern, but give a sense that it has existed for a long time.
- Our core brand values which we would like to reflect in the design (as far as possible) are: Trust, Intelligence, and Speed.
- Colour Scheme – The primary colours we are using are purple (#25074f) and green (#178d17 and #0F4F1F), however please propose alternative/additional colours if you feel there is something better.
- Fonts – Our current preferred font is Avenir (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avenir_(typeface)) however please propose alternatives.
