Contest Brief

CommuniTEA Café will be a not-for-profit organisation, providing a unique café experience, as it will train and employ people with disabilities, aim to be accessible to people of all ages and abilities and engage the local community in building inclusive environments and relationships.
The purpose of CommuniTEA Café will be to provide meaningful employment opportunities and community inclusion for people with disabilities in their local community. CommuniTEA Café will aim to create an environment where our clients can contribute meaningfully, at their skill level and within their interest, to the running of a hospitality business. The café will have a full operating commercial kitchen, service area, function and meeting area (to be used for training, workshops and corporate events), community garden and laundry area. CommuniTEA Café will aim to implement innovative assistive technology options to support independence in all areas of the daily running of a café for both employees and customers.
