Contest Brief

EDITING TO ADD FEEDBACK BASED ON DESIGNS SUBMITTED SO FAR: The key concept here is "Ripples", more than "power". Radiating, expanding, growing, reaching further.... I like soft fonts better than some of the heavy machine or "power" fonts submitted so far. And I'm looking for a design package, not just a logo. It has to have the title of the course (Ripples of Power) and be adapted to a DVD cover, DVD, and page background, as described below.

I've extended the contest by a week, and raised the prize to reflect that this is more work than a simple logo.

----------------------

I need a webinar/DVD design package for a personal development course called "Ripples of Power".

The basic concept is that personal power *begins within*, and that once you identify and strengthen that core, that strength/power ripples out through your personal relationships, social interactions, professional goals, etc. Once each of us finds our strength/power, our presence in the world begins a chain of events that also ripples outward, empowering others. Like a stone in a pond, or a drop of liquid into a still surface ripples outward (or any other kind of radiating or opening or flowering), gets bigger/fuller/reaches further. Shining light into the world, light radiating from within are also useful concepts.

The chakra colors associated with the kind of personal power I'm working with are Red, Orange, Yellow. You can work with those primarily, or include the full range of chakra colors, or surprise me with something else entirely. The course serves both men and women, so if you decide to use any kind of figure in your design, it must be gender-neutral. I'm happy to answer questions if you want to dig further into the concepts.

I need three things from the design:

1. A CD/DVD and cover design that includes the round/cutout disc, a plain square sleeve, and a rectangular standard DVD box cover.

2. A clean white-background template, based on the design, suitable for a simple landing page, a PowerPoint slide or a folder cover. (Basically a single or multi corner, top and/or bottom design...possibly a watermark, but for the most part, big white open space in the middle.)

3. A basic logo or graphic element based on the design that can be used wherever an icon, logo or feature image is required.

You can cover the disc and disc covers completely with color/design, if you want. But the design elements MUST work equally well on a clean mostly-white website, and as a PowerPoint slide template with lots of open space.

I would rather not find the same artwork on a stock art site before or after the contest closes...we all use elements from various places, but I am looking for reasonably unique & original work that will be exclusively mine if it's selected.

I have to say that I am very disappointed that virtually every one of these images was blatant stock art that I could have bought for a few dollars on the original sites. If this was not a guaranteed contest, I wouldn't be awarding a winner at all.
