I have a bunch of Excel tables I've been putting together that need to start being prepared to become a database of related tables.
I can't work in Excel anymore due to it's many limitations.
My plan is to convert to MySql but I'd like to have some custom tools to perform the core tasks needed to pull this all together. I've looked at .NET tools like Obout that have most of the components I can see needing however I don't know .NET/programming well enough to tweat it or similar programs.
So I am looking for a developer who uses that or some other similar toolset (so I don't have to pay to reinvent the wheel) to modify these to my needs (which will be ongoing even after initial project).
Core needs are:
1) Combine multiple sources of single tables into one which means a way to compare/merge duplicate records. Not as simple as just 'remove duplicates' since that can be defined in different ways (e.g. If FieldX=FieldX and FieldY=FieldY), and different rules can apply on which values to keep when conflicts exist (e.g. For Field1 keep values where Field2=X)
2) Reoder tables using Drag/Drop Expand/Collapse which means as I do so the table relationships/hierarchy updates as well. Note as well in some cases I can move and in some cases 'copy' which means i'd be setting up one-to-many relationships.
3) Create links/relations between tables. By far the more complex task as this is generally phrase/keyword/semantic based and I need either a) rules to create string transformations to test relationships or b) powerful search rules/tools.
