Flash Actionscript to control turning knobs

I have made a small animation that needs actionscript to control it. Basically, it is 2 radio-like knobs/dials that when turned control the flow of text objects (the text objects are the name of gases like oxygen [ie. O2], or isoflurane [iso]). I need someone to write script that does the following: when the user uses the mouse to turn a knob, O2 flows faster down a pipe, and when the user turns another knob, O2 flows fast down another pipe. In essence the user can control how fast the oxygen molecules are flowing down the pipes by turning one of two knobs up or down.
I have the basic cartoon made, but i don't know how to write the script. This project would likely take one day for someone who knows how do write this.
More details (see attached jpg and flash file): when the green knob is turned to 1, a little bobbin above it will float up to 1 and 1 molecule of O2 will move down the pipe and across to the other side in about 5 seconds (from the dial on the left out through the pipe to the right). If the user turns the knob to 5, then 5 molecules will move down the pipe in 5 seconds. When the user turns the green knob then O2 will move into a large chamber that has liquid (iso) in the bottom. The O2 will float around inside the chamber and 1 molecule of liquid iso will vaporize out of the liquid to join 2 molecules of O2 in the chamber; together they will flow out of the chamber through the exiting pipe. These molecules should just be represented by the shorthand (O2, iso).
An example: The user turns the green dial up to 5 (5L/min) and little O2 symbols start flowing out at a steady rate (a good rate would be 1 per second). The user then turns on the red dial up to 0.1 (100ml/min) and little O2 symbols start to flow out at a slower rate (a good rate would be 1 every 5 seconds or so). Once a few O2 symbols have entered the big chamber, 2 of them draw near each other and a little "iso" symbol pops out of the liquid to join them (the liquid is isoflurane that gets vaporized when oxygen comes close by). Together the 2 O2's and the iso exit as a threesome. If the red dial is turned up more, this process just occurs with more molecules (ie 1 per second instead of every 5 seconds). All the molecules that have exited the right side of the chamber flow out the pipes and disappear on the right.
small details:
The running animation should be looping and able to be paused and played.
The green dial should read 0-5 (not 0-3 as I have it in the example picture)
The bobbins should rise up inside the glass to the level that the dials are turned (the center horizontal line represents the level on the bobbin that should be level with the meter).
Ideally both dials should be green to represent oxygen in both lines.
