My website has traffic, I need a new revenue model

I have a website in the job interview questions niche. It serves almost 1m page views per year. The site is about 8 years old. It has some good rankings in google however revenue performance is poor. I need someone with a plan for me to maximize revenue from this website. The technical work will be done at my end. I need the ideas/plan.
I've tried hosting google ads, selling ebooks and hosting a membership site. While revenue performance improved with each change, the conversion rate is still poor and income is very low for this level of traffic (the traffic is qualified, visitors seem to enjoy site content). Poor performance has been down to inappropriate product offerings, poor sales copy etc.
I feel that I have not yet found the right website offering and revenue model (product/advertising/whatever) to make this site pay. Revenue is almost negligible. Should be much more for this amount of traffic.
I need someone smart to propose a website, revenue plan & model that will increase revenue as far as possible.
The winning plan may be innovative, based on your experience, other websites' success, plans from other niches etc etc. Depending on the plan, everything is up for grabs with respect to the site. I am willing to change every aspect of the entire site, if the plan calls for it. (I have to have a confidence in the plan, I don't want to take an outright risk). The plan must be specific to my website and my niche.

I need reasonable bids. This website is a bust-up Ford, not a Ferrari. I'm fine to build in a performance-based reward for success in exchange for a lower up front bid.
In your bid, please give a broad indication of the nature of the plan. Basically give me enough info to know that your plan is the best one. It would be very hard for me to select a bid that says "Dude, I have a great idea, pick me".
