We are a small company (4 employees) in Cambridge, MA that consults for non-profits. We are looking for an OLAP Cube developer for contract work. We facilitate data collection for our clients, and currently store and analyze the data in Excel/Access. We would like to create a new system based in SQL (Microsoft or open-source --- developer's preference). We are looking for someone to work with us to build a SQL database to store the data; a program to do some basic manipulation and preparation of the data for cube processing; and then design and deploy a relatively small cube system to facilitate data analytics. The successful applicant will have a demonstrated ability to: - build and design OLAP cubes, dimensions and measures. This includes building some moderately complex calculated measures. - manipulate relational data to improve consistency and quality within the cube analytic system. - work with the client team (that's us) to understand the analytic requirements and ensure the resulting cube system supports such requirements - train our team in the use of the cubes from client tools such as ProClarity and/or Excel (or open-source equivalent) The current position is for contract work on this project but may be extended into a much larger role if the work is satisfactory (either an expanded project, or possibly a full-time position, if the developer is interested). We would like to pay for this as a one-time project fee, instead of being billed by the hour. We require someone who can occasionally work on-site in Cambridge, MA.
