We currently use the open-source FCK Editor ([url removed, login to view]) as our in-browser rich text editor for embedding in apps that we develop. These are webapps available in any web browser. The problem is that FCK Editor has a bug ([url removed, login to view]) that prevents it's functioning in Safari on the Apple Mac platform. We would like to comission the right developer to supply a patch that will allow for us to enable Mac Safari support while also allowing for future FCK Editor upgrades. The FCK Editor is built with Javascript and HTML. In order to work on this project you must be expert in these technologies and have a good handle on Object oriented design and open-source development processes. You must also have access to a Mac with OS X and safari to test this product. Ideally you will be an experienced Mac developer. The patch must not break current functionality in IE or Firefox.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

3) The software must be delivered as a patch. Instructions should be supplied with easy steps detailing it's installation along-side the fck editor. As part of the deliverable the developer must also supply a live working implementation of the patch and fck editor on a publicly available server that our QA department can test. 4) The completed patch should operate defect free in IE 6+, FireFox 1.5+ and Safari 2+

## Platform

The plugin should not hinder the current operation of the FCK Editor on the following platforms: Windows XP running: IE 6.x+ and FireFox 1.x+ Mac OS X running: Safari 2.x+ and Firefox 1.x+
