I have a newsletter that I wrote on development in the first year of life. The issues go from issue 1 to 12 to coincide with the first 12 months of life.
I'm hoping to sell this to parents who would subscribe.
We've done a little marketing survey and I think
we can sell this on the Internet and deliver it
automatically each month via e-mail as a PDF.
Of course each month different groups of people
would get different issues. Once it was fully
launched all 12 issues would go out to different
people at the same time, once people got the final issue (12), they'd drop off.
So, what I need is to:
1. set up a website so that people can buy it (we
have content for this based on the first week of
life that would be like a teaser or sample issue, but shorter)
a. as part of this we need to be able to
take payments (paypal I think would be easiest)
b. we'd need to set up a database for
sending the issues (so, subscribers would fill
out a form that would be linked to the database
and the database would then "know" when to send what issue to who)
2. set up a way to deliver the newsletter-- ideally PDF as attachments
a. if possible I'd prefer for people not
to be able to forward the attachment-- but perhaps forward the website instead
b. set up database to deliver automatically and track who gets what
c. perhaps offer people the option of
buying 1 issue-- so, for example if we charge
$12.00 for the subscription for 12 months, they
could buy just one month (through downloading the
PDF) for a per issue price (say $2.00)
that's it, it's simple conceptually, I have the
content written, just have to fill out some
things, drop in pics and convert to PDF
that part I can do, it's the rest of it that I
don't know how to do (except in theory)
