We want to have a Custom DirectShow Video Render Filter (DirectX [url removed, login to view]),
that draws on the Overlay (Hardware Overlay on any Graphics card)
The old days, it was done with DirectDraw and Overlay surfaces.
We welcome any better or new ways of doing this.
In few words it does what any normal Video Render (VMR7) does,
plus Extra Custom Overlay abilities:
1. Draw Overlay Video frame in any Position, any Size and any Screen (for Multiple Monitors),
2. Draw Overlay Video frame in any shape (Loaded Bitmap mask (0-256))
and any Transparency (0-100%) between Video Overlay and desktop),
3. Color key source/destination (using color or Loaded Bitmap mask),
4. Loaded Bitmap to blend (0-100%) on live video with or without bitmap masking.
5. Multiple monitors ability (can draw on 2 and more screens simultaneous).
6. Can have multiple Instances of Custom Overlay Video Render DirectShow Filter.
(For multiple Video streams on each monitors)
7. Supports all types of Graphics Cards (NVidia, ATI, Laptops, etc)
8. Fullscreen to Graphics Cards output (S-Video Out, etc..).
Any comments are welcome.
The Purpose of the DS filter is to be used in a simple Directshow video player.
The Filter can be used & controlled directly in GraphEdit with Property pages and with
Save/Load Settings (IPersistStream).
A good example of how it should work is VideoDesktop from Globe Masters.
They use a real live video Overlay Surface to do the job.

with select "DirectX Wallpaper" in Video menu.
NOTE!
The Overlay Drawing on the desktop is windowless.
Their is NO window to draw on.
The Video is drawn directly on the DirectDraw overlay surface straight to the screen Or if Hardware Overlay inaccessible then use Layered Windows.
The project must be written in unmanaged C++,
using the Microsoft Visual Studio 2005/2008 and DirectX([url removed, login to view]).
Also,
all relevant applications/tests/demos/examples/docs,
for the proof the project is working 100% and how it works,
must be included.
