I create a product called Acrylic Photo Blocks - you can see more here [url removed, login to view] - this site [url removed, login to view] shows more images and will be useful in trying to write the script I am needing.
I would like to develop an application (initially to be on the home page of my [url removed, login to view] website but later to develop to an iPhone application) which will allow someone to use one of their own images and get a sense of what this might look like once made into an acrylic photo block/panel.
I do three thicknesses of acrylic/perspex block and panel - 6mm, 20mm and 40mm - what occurs is that the edges of the image are reflected in the highly buffed walls of the perspex creating a seemingly third dimension. You can see by looking at images on the 'etsy' website this effect....I would NOT require the block to revolve/turn so a script could be written which simply replicates (by the thickness of the block selected) the edges of the image uploaded. I have a number of 'standard' sizes on the website and I would require the application to be able to replicate ALL these sizes so that a realistic replication of what a client might receive can be ascertained. I would place a 'let me see what my block will look like' button on the home page to allow potential customers to get a sense of what their images will look like.
