Type-ahead plugin for wordpress 2.1+ categories

The project is to create a Wordpress plug-in tha changes the interaction with the categories feature of wordpress. I have implemented the Category Tagging plugin on my current blog and such, the number of categories in use is now in the hundreds.

When authoring a blog entry, I specify which "tags" (categories) that applies to the blog entry. This is typically 2 or more existing existing tags, plus the creation of new tags.

Requirements:

- Plugin must follow standard wordpress plugin guidelines

- Coded in PHP

- Work with Wordpress 2.1 and above

- Plug-in has no optons other than activating/deactivating through the standard wordpress plugin UI

- When enabled, it alters that "Write" page on wordpress such that the category selection is changed as follows:

1. "Categories" name is changed to "Tags"

2. Type-ahead is implented in the text box, such that as I type, UI appears below the text box allowing me to choose existing tags that match on a sub-string basis.

3. Tag selection from #2 can either be done by mouse click, or arrow keys + enter

4. Tags that don't exist but are entered in the text box are added when the blog entry is saved or published.

5. One or more tags can be entered in the input box delimited by commas.

The functionality described above is similar to how the tag enty box on [url removed, login to view] functions. Further requirements will be describe on acceptance of the work, but the scope is as described above.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

## Platform

Will run in PHP as a Wordpress plugin. Must support whatever server environment Wordpress 2.1+ supports.
