I have built my client a video showcase web page which they now want to include an embedded map.
Map will initially show a whole specific area (Part of Australia) with a boundary around it - we can provide the boundary in kmz file
Ability to zoom in and see more local detail
points showing video locations
hovering over a point brings up thumbnail and blurb
click to watch video in lightbox popout
points coloured according to theme (e.g. NRM, News Story, Arts)
ability to select which themes to display on the map
ability to add videos and blurbs
We will also want to use the scrolling video pane to show only one video at a time (probably a pick of the best ones) with a blurb below each video as it appears - similar to a news site.
At the moment I have built them a small CMS to add youtube videos, user clicks them , they play in a lightbox and it works fine but obviously for functionality is needed.
Can you provide details of how you would achieve this job, what tools you would use and any similar work you have done.
