Java GUI Development for Medical Device

We are a small medical device / translational research company specializing in upper limb prosthetics. Currently we are developing an embedded control system with a desktop GUI. We are looking for an experienced software developer that can work closely with us on an on-going basis.
We have an initial version of the GUI written in Java (Netbeans IDE 7.3.1) with most functions already completed, but implementation is somewhat haphazard, lacks documentation and V&V. We are looking for help to overhaul/optimize this existing program, implement some workflow changes and create a polished look for the GUI that can become a standard for our products. We will also require documentation of the development process and V&V.
Must have skills/experience: Java, interfacing with embedded C and Unity based environments, GUI design, V&V testing, documentation
Nice to have skills/experience: medical device software development, IEC 62304
Required: resume and portfolio, Skype interview for candidates with acceptable experience level
