Linux Server Configuration & DNS setup

I have bought a new VPS server and installed WHM/cPanel already, I am getting error installing some PHP based program (such as: Joomla, Magento etc) which need to be fixed. Also I want someone to guide me setting up the DNS server so that I can point all the domain to my new VPS.
