Hi -
I have no experience in creating logos, websites or companies, so I'm not sure if I even know enough to be asking the right questions. For background, I am U.S. Coast Guard Search & Rescue retired and just now starting my first company/website which is not really for sales as it is to curate and hold my copyrights and to display my works for industry professionals.
My logo name "[login to view URL]" which will incorporate a shark (examples I really like are also attached) will be used on the website so it needs to be "scalable" and perhaps "a vector file" - ? I will also be using the logo on business cards and letterhead and perhaps merch in the future (mugs, shirts, etc.).
My idea is to use my handwriting as shown. I have palsy in my hands: it's very hard for me to write w/clear lines, so I'd like help in an overall clean-up on the edges and spacing. The circled example is pretty much it, the others examples are to reinforce the overall concept. I'm way open for suggestions, btw. I'd like to have the lettering go from blue to green, maybe like "JAM" in blue, "W-" in transition from blue to green, and "[login to view URL]" as green. Oh yeah, I'm also color blind (ugh) and will be depending on your artistic eye and taste.
As for the shark, I don't know where it should be placed - to the R of "[login to view URL]", to the L or perhaps underneath like the side profile shark example (I conceptually like this one the least but open to opinions). The shark will need to be a stand alone logo (?) so it can be used as the icon on the browser tab. I would like the colors to be primarily gold (as gold as red can tastefully go) and then red(s) as a secondary, contrasting color(s).
I think that's it. Like I said, I'm older than technology so please take a "Logo's for Dummies" approach. Please advise me what I need, like ".ai" or ".psd" or ".ico" or whatever it is I should have. I have no time constraints. I am not one to haggle or talk down the price, but please know I can afford to do this only once because of - well, reality.
