Forward with masking using Apache's mod_rewrite tool

I have a multisite or networked Wordpress installation on MediaTemple hosting using the responsive Invictus theme.

I am masking with forwarding the individual sub-domains using the client's Godaddy account, however the responsiveness is being broken due to the site being displayed within the generated Godaddy iframe.
I would like to forward and mask by modifying the htaccess file using Apache's mod_rewrite tool to rewrite URL requests. I found some articles that make this possible, please see below.
