Modify Wordpress Plugin and Theme Template -- SERVERSIDE

Hello! A simple easy task for the experienced developer here!
I am using WordPress on AWS lightsail, and have the "Newspaper 8" theme installed.
My website displays videos from YouTube and Facebook and categorizes them.
I use a service to get an RSS feed based on my categories, and feeding those into a plugin called "MyCurator"
The videos and descriptions are pulled and stored in the MyCurator plugin, but the video data does not parse correctly into the theme post template.
WHAT I WOULD LIKE:
- Video URL to pass via AJAX (or some other serverside language such as Node.js) into "Featured Video" area inside the theme post template.
- Set the video format style Video as default.
** IMPORTANT**
This is the 2nd attempt I am seeking for a developer to complete this task. The solution shouldn't use jquery as the script must run on the server and not in the browser. Please only apply for this task if you are competent in server side coding.
