I need to model many low-poly game characters in Cinema4d, rig them and animated them. I'm looking for one to two hour tutorial/consultation/instruction on the strategy to do that in the most effective and efficient manner. I have experience with cinema4d, and character animation, but I'm not an expert in either. I have a basic character I would like to start with and modify it to create many 'individuals'. I'm using a rig that I created following the Rabbit rigging tutorial that comes with c4d. I assume this should be simplified for a game character.

Here are some example specific things I'd like to go over:

-can I duplicate one rig and re-size it to use it for all my characters?

-can I create one animation on a skeleton then bind it with many different meshes? (for example can I have many characters animated with the same walk cycle, and then tweak it slightly for each character)

If this first tutorial session is successful, there might be potentially more, since this is a large subject.

I'm looking for an introduction to basic principles of modeling, rigging and animating game characters. The game engine I'll be using is Unity3d.

I never use Cinema4D before but I can provide you with the very basic concept of 3D animation (modeling, rigging, animation, etc), and pointed you to more suitable, low-cost applications that would fit the work. Cinema More
