I need to package my utility ([url removed, login to view]) for distribution. It is relatively simple tool, currently command line. It has one dependency: m2crypto library. In the near future there will be a GUI-related dependency (probably wxPython).

My primary target is Debian-based Linux OS, but all else equal I would prefer a solution which supports for wider range of Linuxes and other platforms.

I need a consultant familiar with packaging of Python programs. I need two things:

(i) an advice which approach to use (there appear to be many),

(ii) go take the code from github and add packaging.

By packaging I mean writing necessary meta files, developing point-and-shoot scripts which I can use to build distro files (like python egg and/or .deb file), making sure the resulting package file has installs and passes self-test on recent Ubuntu and Backtrack (Ubuntu-based) distributions.

I would like to pay fix price. If the specification of the job cannot be captured from the explanations above, please ask questions. I have no strong deadlines. I am somewhat flexible on budget, currently I consider 50 euro as an adequate price tag for the job.
