Wordpress ‘Optimize Press 1.64’ Child Theme And Customization

Hi there, I’m about to upgrade my website theme from Optimize Press 1.5x to Optimize Press 1.64 and there are a few customizations I’m going to need. The site is [login to view URL]

I haven’t upgraded to the newest version of Optimize Press yet. I wanted to leave the site as it is so you can have a look at it, just incase it makes your job easier. (i.e: Maybe you can use the same code/footer image verus having to recreate it)

Child Theme Creation

1. First, I would like for the customizations to be made in a child theme if possible.

I currently have all these customizations done, but when I upgrade the theme I think they will be lost. So because of this I would like to create a Child Theme where the customizations can be made and where I can upgrade OP in the future without losing them.

Page Width Change

2. The website is a very simple sales letter, with 2 main pages and about 4 supporting pages and they all use the exact same template. The main thing I need done is that I need the content area width changed from 944 px to 784 px. (i.e: Need the page to line up with the header)

When you do this you'll notice that the header is offset by 1 px. I can edit the header image myself later or if you can adjust it, that would be great too.

Padding Changed

3. I need the side margins (i.e: padding) set to 50 px and the top margin set to 0 px or close to 0 px. This is just so that the main video is displayed closest to the top of the page.

Background Image Fixed-In-Place

4. I need the background image fixed vs tiled. I can do this myself in the custom css section but if you can easily do it as part of the child theme then please do. The bonus here is if you know how to fix this image for mobile devices. I know this is a known issue and not easy to do. But if you can do that, it would certainly be worthy of a bonus reward. (The mobile part is truly a bonus and I really don’t care if I get this done, especially if it adversely affects the site in any way. In that case I would prefer it not be done)

Footer Image Edit

5. When you change the page width, this will introduce a little issue with the footer. See comment below to see how the guy who did this job the last time explained it.

“Users with IE 9 or less will see square corners. Before I changed the width, the rounded corners of the footer were actually a background image of fixed width. If you want I can use that image, resized for the new width, and that way IE users will see the rounded corners too.”

Future Work

You can think of this job as a job interview because I’ve decided to outsource all technical work from here on in.
