Experienced PHP Developer for Ongoing Assigments

A small company based in Reading, UK, with a number of key internal software projects which we need an experienced freelance developer on an ongoing semi-permanent basis.

We are seeking a talented PHP developer with solid MySQL, database and web application development knowledge. A knowledge of e-commerce (Magento) would also be beneficial.

We aim that this will be an ongoing role for a freelancer to become part of our team. You will be working on a number of key internal development projects including

- Maintaining and enhancing our current suite of websites and e-commerce sites

- Developing several new websites and e-commerce sites

- Continuing the design and development of our bespoke CRM system and booking systems

- Interfacing our software with third parties and onto different platforms

- Leading the development work on exciting, confidential new projects which will continue to differentiate us from our competitors

You must be able to problem solve, work on your own initiative and deliver to agreed timescales. Technically, clear direction will be provided by our retained development consultant (who has helped shape software solutions within our business for the last 6 years).

Minimum requirement

• A PHP developer with proven experience and problem solving skills

• Exposure to frontend technology such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS/Less

• Strong backend experience with MySQL

• 3+ years experience in developing and deploying PHP websites and/or PHP web applications

Whilst we are happy to consider developers located anywhere, we’d prefer someone local (UK based) so that we can meet up with you from time to time. We expect this role to need someone at least one day a week on average.
