Time is showing incorrectly in datagridview vb 2008& filter

I have a payroll program and i have two buttons on the main form, a begin shift and end shift button. when these buttons are pressed respectively then the current system time is sent to the access database. however i have added a small form where a button called Log Sheets is pressed and when this form is loaded you can see the access table with all the times and dates (datagridview). however if you preview the data or run the program and the data loads the shift time and date have a weird date in front of them. I just want this to display the current time simply. and besides that i just want to add a filter to search only certain employee ID's, and Dates, etc. This is very small and should take no time at all. I would also like a print button if it is not alof of work. If it takes too much coding don't worry about it.
