I have about 1500 JB2 images I need converted to Group4 Tif images. Would prefer a solution to run on my own machine as I may have future images to convert.

Create a command-line based JBIG2 image decoder. Image encoding is not required. The decoder will accept a JBIG2 image file from disc and convert it to raw format, writing it back to disc. What I need is some sort of C/C++ source code for embedding text and images in PDF. With the source code I should be able to produce the PDFs on the fly. The important thing that the coder must deliver to me is the ability to embedd Jpeg2000 and JBig2 images to PDF (no conversion accepted). Also I should be able to embedd some text to PDF. However the 'wrapped' PDF will maintain the DjVu image properties, qualities and benefits with regards to the small file size and image quality. I know this 'PDF wrapping or shell' can be done for the JPM or the jpg2000 format and I believe it is because of the image formats of the layers of the jpg2000 image that PDF can handle like jBIG2, lzw etc. The DjVu format is very similar to jpg2000 and uses just one different format in one of its layers to that of jpg2000 and that is IW44. The DjVu format was originaly open source and hasn't changed since then and so there is a lot of stuff on the format and development tools available.
