Contest Brief

OBJECTIVE:
.
We are looking for an artist who can provide high quality cartoons of specific people, and who can draw attention to specific elements or features of those people.
You will get 100 $ if your one sample drawing wins this contest. WHEN YOU ARE AWARDED THIS CONTEST, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO TAKE ON A MUCH LARGER PROJECT (AROUND 30 DRAWINGS). We will discuss the terms of this project after you are awarded this project through winning this contest with the sample you provide us (sample is explained below).
Specifically, we are looking for someone who is highly comfortable with representing the face and body of a bodybuilder; and able to emphasize certain muscles or features that make them famous.

This will be used for a humorous children’s book (for 4 to 9 year old children), that kids will enjoy because of the funny drawings / cartoons and colors used; and parents will enjoy because they know the people represented in the cartoons. PLEASE NOTE: you are not required or encouraged to copy this style, it is only provided as an example of a cartoon that is interesting to children and adults (ie. their parents) at the same time. We will need a more defined drawing/cartoon than the one above so as to show the muscles and characterizing points of the bodybuilders represented.

REQUIREMENTS:
.
There are 2 requirements to being awarded this job. Please follow them carefully to be considered:
.
- Have your portfolio of previous work in your profile. If not in your profile, please provide us with your portfolio through a message or comment on this contest page.
.
- SAMPLE: Working preferably in vector based software, show us your skill and style by providing a sample caricature, using this bodybuilder as a basis: http://bit.ly/NasserElSonbaty . The things that this bodybuilder was famous for are: 1) his eyeglasses; and 2) he was nicknamed “The Professor” because he had multiple academic degrees.

SUMMARY:
.
We will be favoring anyone who demonstrates skill with drawing the bodies, faces, and aspects that make each bodybuilder famous.
.
If you would like to get this job, please show us your unique style and creativity, your ability to represent the muscles of a bodybuilder, and remember that your sample has to be humorous and interesting for children and their parents at the same time.
.

PLEASE NOTE: 1. The contest duration (14 days) is not necessarily how long the contest will last. If we see the entry of the freelancer whom we wish to work with, we will close the contest as early as necessary.
2. We will be posting feedback to each and every one of the entries we receive. You are encouraged to check out our rating and feedback to other artists' work so that you can better know what we are looking for.
3. the $ Prize for this contest is for the best sample only. The full project (30 drawings) will have another, larger reward, which we will discuss after you are named the winner of this contest. Good luck to everyone!

      Not to be argumentative but - actually - you had. To all practical intents and purposes closed the Contest. By declaring all interest down to just two 5 star rated entries you declared a disinterest in any other work which - in retrospect - has clearly been proven the case. I've frankly no idea why you chose to waste your own time, as you clearly elected to, but when you make up your mind again like that in future - kindly please don't waste other peoples.

      Mark, again, the project still had a good 2 days left in it. I think the "5/5 stars" is what's leading you to believe that we had already found a winner (2 winners?). This was done only to set those 2 candidates above the rest, which was the truth: Why would we mislead people into thinking we hadn't chosen 2 candidates out of the 173 entries to top our list? If anything, this was a way for everyone to see what was in close contention of being chosen, instead of having a large number of 4-starred entries as was the case prior to the two 5-star candidates. This gave all freelancers involved a chance to give it one last go.
      There was ample time remaining, not 3 or 4 hours left. Seeing as we had paid to extend the contest a certain amount of days, we were *always* going to see the contest out till the deadline was reached. And that's what we did. Thank you for participating.

    This contest is a bad joke, it takes time to extend the contest. It qualifies and comments to several that does not resemble the character, but there are many who have 5 stars that do not resemble the character.. Looks like he really doesn't know what he wants.

      We did. Going by the depoistphotos watermark clearly overlaying it, chances are good you didn't download it from iStock - but here, instead: https://depositphotos.com/vector-images/weird-cartoon.html

      Sachin - you do realise, don't you - every time someone like you tries passing off copyrighted work as their own, God creates another Republican which then proceeds to eat an innocent puppy, whole.

      You don't have the vector file for your entry, it is clearly the sample image provided by depositphotos from which which you have tried - poorly, I might add - to take the watermark out of. And you couldn't even do that right. Changing the colour on the trunks doesn't make it your work, Sachin - which is what you entered it as being.

      Please don't do that again. Ever. Do you require me to explain why to you further or would you prefer a member of staff walking you through it instead....?
