I am creating a boardgame based on Hollywood Studios of the 1920s and Golden Age of Hollywood.
I need these copyrights questions investigated and answered, and not just by a yes or no, but by the actual explanation of law that govern these.
Find a Hollywod photos archive containing a list of Actors/Moguls/Director that will be provided (preferably free of rights).
See how copyrights work to include them in a board game.
See if artist sketches of above photos could be done without paying copyrights to photos right holder (if there is) since its a new work of art?
See if names of actors/moguls/director could be used as is in the game? Or if we need to pay copyright for these ?
Investigates if original names of Hollywood Studio (in the 10s and 20s) can be used ?
Most of them are companies that merged together that no longuer exist or exist under that name.
Do we have to pay copyrights for using these ?
If so, how much ?
List of Actor/Moguls/Directors and Studios names will be provided to bidders awarded with projects.
