Online logfile viewer/analyser tool

Our company makes high-tech instruments. When there are issues with these instruments, the customer can generate a "system information file" (basically a collection of all the log files and traces of the system) which gets saved on a USB stick. This "sysinfo" file gets sent to our distributors (who usually send them on to our service department). We unpack the files and browse through the log files to help diagnose the problem. We are looking to automate this partially. Different generations of our instruments' software generate (slightly) different flavors of log files. They were originally just intended for the developers. There is a collection of tools to unpack the log file collections, but these are not very "user friendly" and it takes our service department considerable time for each incident. Our service department has asked R&D to make a nice tool for this, preferably online, but we can't seem to get enough priority for this, also because we have no web developers in house. Hence, this project: We are looking for a server-side solution, preferably in a language we speak (Python). We know that most server-side apps are written in PHP, but we'd prefer not to learn something new. The rough idea is this: - Service engineer (or perhaps later distributor, or perhaps even later the end customer) uploads the sysinfo file to the server - Server app sniffs the file to see which version it's from - Server app unpacks the file accordingly and presents a viewer of the relevant log files in there in a web page - Server app maybe has some built-in "pattern matching" to recognize often-occurring problems. The last part is why we want a server-side app instead of a standalone app which send to our distributors, because we have the idea that we can add some patterns which our service engineers look for, and gradually extend the app (or let the successful freelancer extend the app) with more of these patterns. For example: the app could look for "vacuum error" and automatically highlight this in the web view. The page doesn't have to be "sexy", and plain HTML output is fine.
